girls.jpgby morrisonRNComment: This is great. I like everything about it. You couldn't have picked a better way to display it either - in black and white. It makes you notice the subtle nuances of each woman's difference. If it were in color, you might miss it, as the shades would be various and you'd notice it instead of the women themselves. Some with hats, some without... this is really good. |

Antigua3by GBrummettComment: The combination of the human and the architectural is nice. The saturation of her dress and hat really draws your eyes to her. I like how she is small, yet such an integral point of the photo. Well captured. |

Cast Awayby L1Comment: How'd I miss this?? It's terrific. Maybe I didn't vote on all of those. Must not have.
Really a nice capture. It has a sad sense like it was lost or fell off of a bike, or maybe dropped. Great leading line!!! |

American Entomologist by connieComment: What an amazingly detailed image. I feel like I'm inside a nearby flower, observing! This is just lovely with the colors and clarity! |

happy holidaysby melodeeComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!!!
At first glance, I get kind of a warm fuzzy feeling when I see this. The soft glow of the dimly lit room, illuminated by the glowing fire. Technically, for the lighting, I think it's pretty good. The overall image isn't tack sharp, but with the setting, it doesn't detract from the image. The perspective and angle is nice - not the straight on target in the center shot that can be less interesting than the angle from which you chose to shoot this. My main critique is that it's just plain busy. I understand that it's a fireplace mantel at Christmastime, but I think that maybe if you had removed a few of the things on the hearth and maybe zoomed in a bit on one or two objects on the mantel, it might have conveyed the same message without being quite so distracting. I might've cropped out a tad more of the lower area below the fireplace, so that the wreath wouldn't be chopped off. Just a nitpick though on that one. Overall, a pleasing "holiday card" type shot that is reminiscent of wonderful memories, for me at least. Keep up the good work and Merry Christmas!!! |

Sylvia being Sylviaby joannsComment: Very nice ~ I like how the touch of fuschia and red is on the hipline of her dress and it draws your eye for another added pop of color. Pretty girl. Very nice skin and lighting! Red backgrounds don't always work, but it is realy great in this instance - with the lipstick and her dark hair!! |

Sylvia Veiledby joannsComment: Very nice. I like the illusion veil - it doesn't hide the beauty beneath. Nice softness without being a blur. |
