What a cute shot! Technically the focus and lighting are fine, if not very creative. Obviously, you've caught kitty in a fun pose. I usually try to determine which challenge a critque photo has come from, before I actually look to see which challenge. I had no clue with this one, other than possibly the "Best of 2005" challenge. It does not convey fantasy to me at all. I suppose, given the title it could fit, but I would not give any extra points at all for meeting the challenge well. While I wouldn't deduct points (I'm pretty liberal with the challenge interpretations and give the photographer the benefit of the doubt) I think your score probably did suffer froma poor connection to the theme.

As it is, it's a cute kitty shot but not unique enough or creative enough to carry a wow factor for the viewer who doesn't have a connection with this particular cat. There is nothing technically I think you should change about the shot. I like how the eyes are looking right at the camera. I didn't not vote in this challenge, but if I had voted, I would have given your kitty shot a 5.
