Yes, it was my entry is "Best of 2005." It didn't finish very well...in the 500's out of 800+ entries, somewhere in the mid 5's. |

Quiet Progressionby MelethiaComment: I really like the simplicity of this shot. I wish more of the wire was in focus, but that's pretty nit picky. The green bokeh sets up the subject nicely. |

Emma againby MelethiaComment: I went looking for this photo when I saw it as your profile photo. It is wonderful! I would tend to darken the shot just a bit to bring out the fur texture and the depth of color in the eyes. I think just darkening the black level a tiny bit would make a big difference to this shot. It is still excellent as is...just a matter of taste. |

Her Teddyby CalliopeKelComment: This is adorable. I love the tones you've given it, and your lighting works well to highlight the sleeping child's face. A wonderful shot. |

DPC freo buskers b&w 2.jpgby Penny LaneComment: I still like the b/w version best. Have you thought about a horizontal crop, concentrating more on the three faces pretty much straight across? I think that would help rid the photo of some distractions (such as some background, and the instrument case) and bring out the character of the musicians. Just a thought. |

DPC mushrooms 3.jpgby Penny LaneComment: Nicely done macro. I especially like the curve of the background, the dof, and the composition here. I'm not a fungus photo fan, really...but this one I like! |

DPC orange salt lake.jpgby Penny LaneComment: I'm not a fan of the color in this one. Composition is good, with a foreground subject, even horizon, etc (although there's not much there to really "be" a subject.) Other than the tone, I think this is fine technically. This is a thought out shot that seems to appeal to other commentors, but I'm just not crazy 'bout it. |

DPC Fremantle.jpgby Penny LaneComment: This is an okay snapshot. Technically it appears fine, but the composition strikes me as simply a quick tourist type snap. It's fine for an "I was here" type of photo to have. I think the reason it appears that way is that there is too much going on - two buildings, the foreground tree, the people. A composition with a focus more in one area would be helpful I think. Hope that helps! :) |

DPC freo buskers b&w 2.jpgby Penny LaneComment: I think this is a nice catch of some street musicians. I like how they aren't looking at you at all...gives the more candid appeal. BW is probably a good choice for this, as the background lines are rather busy looking, but I'd still like to see it in color as well. |

youby boysetsfireComment: That is a very cool card! How wonderful to see the I "heart" and think to add the "you". I really like it, and I'll bet she did too :) |
