The texture is there, but I think a different angle (and without the shadow) could have presented it more strongly and made the subject more interesting.

Break out the razor! This works well for texture and I like the cap and sweater neck. I like the lighting, but I'm not crazy about the angle of the head. Not sure what I would do differently to change that and still capture the texture.

This is a great idea, but I think the composition and lighting are lacking. Maybe grouping the paint together a little more closely, or adding the end of the paintbrush would up the interest factor. The lighting is a little harsh and the background choice bland.

Maybe a little too dark and contrasty on this one. I would have also cropped out the bright spot in the upper left. Strong texture.

I like this shot. I would have liked to see the color version. Other than the light being a little bright on the top of the head, washing out some detail, the shot is wonderful and shows great texture.
