Things Weren't So Rosy in the 30's by KylieComment: Kylie, congratulations! Whoever said good guys finish last hasn't seen your wonderful photos. I was really hoping this one would ribbon. You're a wonderful part of the DPC community. Enjoy! |

Black and whiteby JinjitComment: This is very "eye" catching! I think I would have cropped more off of the bottom to cut the ground portion out of the frame, but it's also nice just as is. How in the world did you get this close to a zebra? lighting could have been a little better, but you pretty much take what you can get with animal shots. Congratulations on a wonderful photo. |

Notepad Leaves by arpitaComment: This is so cool...the lighting really makes the shot. I actually had a similar idea (only using toilet paper), but didn't do it. This has wonderful lighting, a great composition with graceful lines and just a touch of soft color. |

Treesby kawesttexComment: I really like the lighting in this one. I love that look of sun against gray / dark sky. It looks to me like it could be rotated just a hint to the right to balance it out a little bit. Also, those tree branches are small and with that many together they seem to me to give a "soft" look, sort of out of focus, but hard to tell if they truly are.
I really like the composition and subject. The snow just highlights everything so nicely. I can see why it's a scene you'd like to capture. Just because I'm a photo editing nut, I'd probably give this a soft glow sort of treatment. Just a bit. But I do like it as it is also. |

MCRD San Diegoby kawesttexComment: This would have been a wonderful entry for the "light" challenge. I would have given it an 8. Very nice lighting (perfect time of day) and good eye for the composition. Neat shot. |

OKC Memorial Chairsby kawesttexComment: This is an awesome shot. We were there a few years ago, but during the day. I didn't realize they lit up like this. I think I would have liked a closer veiw of several chairs together...like maybe 4 or 5 in a line. |

Home sweet homeby JinjitComment: What nice work on this one. I think maybe it would have placed higher if the main subject was pink instead of the background. Still, as a photo on it's own, it's really one of the strongest and most interesting in the challenge IMO. Great focus and lighting, and I like the bits of blue in the background that set the other colors off so well. Congratulations on a great shot. |

Natural Redheadsby BAMartinComment: Awww...I just want to reach out and pet these guys. Don't know how you got such a close shot, but the two of them together is wonderful. It almost makes the viewer want to place some sort of caption with the expessions. I really like how the faces fill the frame and are really the focus. Nice DOF.
Wow..just read a few of the other comments. I'm not an animal photographer, but I really like the lighting and composition of this. The eyes didn't bother me at all. I guess I just get an overall "feeling" from the shot of closeness between these two and the viewer, and for me the eyes are only a small part of that here. |

Grand Canyonby BAMartinComment: What an amazing place for photography. I wish I lived close to all the canyon areas out there. This is such a nicely composed shot and it looks like you had a nice day for it. I was out there for the first time a few years ago, but I'm sure I'll be back. Photos like this one make me want to go NOW! :) |

Poisonous Hueby thatcloudthereComment: Even if I call the shade pink, which in my opinion it is not, it still is not the primary focus of the shot. There just isn't enough of an interesting subject here to hold my attention. |
