'Puddle'by suemackComment: No matter how old we are, doesn't everyone want to do this sometimes? Congratulations on finding a model who would do it 'on camera'. Nicely exposed and good composition, too. |

Barefoot at the Beachby FalcComment: This is a totally charming photograph, nicely composed with good color. A bit overshadowed (imo) by that heavy border. Still, easily a 9. |

"POP !" a macro illusion by graphicfunkComment: Originally posted by graphicfunk: The initial test shot was made with water. Placed cork on wire and duct taped wire to pail for multiple takes. Filled bottle and poured over cork and of course flipped picture vertically.
Went back with colored water and dish detergent. After 30 takes, I gave up and examined the takes. The original test shot was uploaded with the water because it had the best splash and it covered the wire completely. Action captured with two side strobes bouned off white reflectors and a frontal fresnel as frontal fill.
I felt guilty because of the water and changed the name from "Pop" to "Pop, a macro ilussion", hoping that the viewer would forgive me for using plain water. I figured illusion implies an effect rather than a reality. Anyway, thank you all for your kind response, dan |
Oh! That's how you did it! I dunno what a "frontal fresnel" is (having heard tha term only in association with lighthouses) but it certainly is a splendid effect. |
