Oh,these delightful river boats/barges that ply the waters of England, Holland and other places. I had the pleasure of cruizing on one of these once, and loved the experience.

Okay, to work: I looked and looked at this wondering why it didn't resonate with our voters. I think you had a tricky lighting situation here with the dark darks on the river banks, constrasting sharply with the bright water. (And that water color is a joy to look at) You had multiple focus points - the water, the boat, the bank - but none of them would keep a viewers attention very long. So, my only suggestion (and I'm still struggling with this nice image) would be to make a strong focal point - say the boat - and subordinate all else to it.

Does that make sense? Whatever, it's what I think when I analyze this image, and I hope it helps you.

Terrific capture. Those wings are so beautiful and it's a treat to see them in this array.

I have a better chance at Snowy Egrets near where I live, and they are fun to try for as well.

Well, you had me laughing! Both now and during the Challenge when I first met this image.

It's a delightful idea and you've executed it quite well. AND you got a comment from the original himself. Not a bad haul for one image.

Okay, down to business: I very much like the composition, and the theme, and the background. (but) On my monitor, at least, the figures are not exactly sharp. And in something like this, where there is no pressure, no movement, etc. sharpness is really helpful. (A tripod or a good brace for your camera is a help in such a situation. )

In any event, you have a keeper here, one you can certainly enjoy as many of your DPC team-mates have as well.
