Dang it Roger, you're making me salivate! The Pacific Flyway is right where you live - and you have first pickings at all the really, really good pictures. Like this one.

Well, I won't get there in time for this side-challenge, but I'll get there this year. That is a promise.

In any case, this is spectacular. Thanks for showing it.

And one more thing, the farmers used to burn those rice field left-overs instead of flooding them for the wildlife. I understand the waterfowl are saying "thank you" and their numbers are actually improving after decades of decline.

Yes, everything is squared off and nicely balanced. I remember sights such as this when I was on a barge trip in The Netherlands a while back. Nice colors for an overcast day. I would suggest that some of the sky be cropped out as (forgive me) there is little of interest there and much action on the water.

HaHa. You take pics at high rates of speed too! You should see some of the images I managed to get in India doing exactly that! (Picture taking made me stop thinking about the death that was just around the next water buffalo or truck)

Okay, back to this one. Excellent processing and judicious choice of ISO. Did you use Program or some other 'automatic' camera process? Would you have had time for anything else?

In any case, your peripatetic journeys have been a great deal of fun to follow this past month.
