Fork edgeby clickodakComment: Greetings from the Critique Club.
As usual, you have presented a clean and well-composed image, clickodak.
except for just a little color at the bottom of the egg, this image looks nice in black and white.
However, in competition, this may have been a drawback, as it just is not very exciting.
I do wonder what it would have looked like with a more colorful background. And then, the tines
of the fork appear to be a bit worn and well, not beautiful. They did not act as a perfect foil
for that very symmetrical egg.
so, while the lighting was good and the composition was good, the overall effect was not exciting.
And you use color very, very well in your work. |

A Rose By Any Other Name by JohnFordComment: Beautifully done and very hard to do!
Thanks for the explanation.
I spent a month or so on this technique with far less equipment, and
fmanaged images I liked (not anywhere as good as this).
Kitchen was knee-deep in colored water by the end of the experiment.
In any event, yours is spectacular and a delight to look at. |

Old School Homeworkby GeneralEComment: that slide rule brought back memories, Paul.
I remember a high school math class where our (unpopular) teacher
passed out slide rules and proceeded to drone on and on about how to use them.
She lost me in the first paragraph, and all I could think of was that the thing was a pretty fair ruler but the 'inches' measurement was off. |
