Big Cat, Big Toysby TommyMoe21Comment: GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB
Congratulations on yet another fine animal portrait from what appears to be your favorite zoo.
It shows that you know your critters and shoot them with understanding and compassion and do it very well.
You have many fine constructive comments and don't really need a critique with that good score of yours. So add my congratulations to the list and I'll say thanks for the opportunity to romp through a little of your portfolio before heading on to the next image in the Critique club queue.

Horseshoe Lake Refugeby digichicComment: Greetings from the Critique Club
What a find in the middle of Illinois! I too, would have thought these trees would be located on the edges of Florida!
It was a good find and you made the most of it. Your many comments tell you that there were many interpretations of your handling of this scene.
I guess I am on "the side" of those who think it is a touch over-saturated and thus tends towards harshness. The Hue/Saturation sliders in Photoshop are helpful and by going through all of them just a little at a time, it is frequently possible to build up to an optimum presentation. I put your very fine image on my own computer and (based on the date taken) adjusted the colors to be a bit more cold. That seemed to take the harshness away.
this is just a thought, of course. You are the complete judge of how your work presents.
Keep up the good work. You say you are new to this. Lots of practice and playtime will make you an expert in no time and I look forward to seeing more of your work. |

Will You Marry Me?by melkingComment: GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB
WooHoo - when I saw this one I gasped. What a combination! the bright reds of the rose and the stark blue/white of the gemstones.
There 's a lot to like in this push-pull super sharp image. It is very well photographed and elicited a large amount of commenting from our viewers. what's so much fun about the comments is that they run the gambit, so you can just pick 'n choose the ones you 'like.'
I do agree with the person who suggested that the ring shank color (most of it turned red) should have retained its original color. That is the only, well, false, note in the entire composition.
You're good and I enjoyed a peak at your portfolio. (One of the perks of this job is looking at the work of people you might not otherwise get to)
Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more of your images.

What a splendid image. I am so pleased to have the chance to look at it and enjoy it once more.
You had many comments and they told you want might be 'improved' with this image. You also have comments telling you what a fine image it is.
Sure, a larger size would have been helpful, and you will probably figure out how to achieve the appropriate size for DPC entries soon. There is a tutorial here on the site that may help.
Your sunrise/sunset shot is so appealing. The perfectly captured grains spilling out of the dish, the silhouette treatment, all are powerful and emotive. I have visited your wonderful country and know how exciting and colorful the sun at the horizon can be. You treated it carefully and carried it off nicely.
I look forward to seeing more entries from you. When I peeked at your portfolio I noticed you also enjoy bright color photography. Maybe we will see some of those soon as well.
