Valley Hwy- VanZandt, WA by kellmak10Comment: GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB
Well, kellmak10 you may be new to photography but you have a good eye and an excellent grasp of photographic storytelling.
So, you don't have much of a downtown. So you took what you had and told a story about your town and processed it in excellently in black & white. You've talked about a busy highway, truck traffic, train crossings and a community church, all without being cluttered or messy.
Anyhow, I'm supposed to critique your image (that's what this DPC club is for) so here goes: IMO - Don't change a thing.
Eventually the high scores will come - or not. Look up Posthumous's work for another very exciting angle at this photography obsession of ours.
Okay, good work, sorry it didn't score well. Keep 'em coming.
I hope this little critique was helpful to you.

Bomb The City Ninja Styleby nakedseedComment: GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB
Congratulations, You found a nice scene, perfect for the Challenge, and photographed it well and processed it well.
You also received a nice score for this difficult Challenge. So, you have left me little to critique. However, there is one point I will suggest. The hot spot where the sky and shops show through the 'artwork.' I realize that, in basic editing, you couldn't blur the area out or dull it down; you were stuck with it.
But at the scene, if you could have moved that tripod (good idea to use it, btw) just a little to block out the street & sky it might have made this good image even better. I hasten to say "you were there, I wasn't." Such a move might not have been possible, or would have made the picture less interesting.
So, I'll just close by saying "good work" and I hope this critique has been helpful to you. |
