not much for a main street in my town, but lots of big trucks go by all day.... this picture is taken from the town store (behind the pumps) looking down the street at the church and the community center....turned it black and white and adjusted the contrast until i liked the effect.

GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB

Well, kellmak10 you may be new to photography but you have a good eye and an excellent grasp of photographic storytelling.

So, you don't have much of a downtown. So you took what you had and told a story about your town and processed it in excellently in black & white. You've talked about a busy highway, truck traffic, train crossings and a community church, all without being cluttered or messy.

Anyhow, I'm supposed to critique your image (that's what this DPC club is for) so here goes: IMO - Don't change a thing.

Eventually the high scores will come - or not. Look up Posthumous's work for another very exciting angle at this photography obsession of ours.

Okay, good work, sorry it didn't score well. Keep 'em coming.

I hope this little critique was helpful to you.

Interesting take on the subject. I really like using the gas pumps as a frame for the shot. Nice b&w conversion -- really adds to the feel of the shot.

Not a great score but a great picture. This was one of my three tens that I gave out, the other two are on the front page and imo, this should be up there too!

I paged through the photos the other day and this was on a the few that really grabbed me. So many things to grab your attention and really take you to rural town USA. Excellently framed, nicely converted to b&w and the perfect amount of motion captured all together make this one of the finest shots in the challenge. Good luck and well done!

I thing actually getting on the street and not between the pumps would have helped here.

just my personal opinion but I think this would have been a better shot if the truck had not been blurred
