And I thought I went to a lot of trouble for this one. You win, Lydia. And you're right . . . I took the painterly effect for . . . for, well, for a painterly effect and that cost you a point. Soooooo sorry now. but I'd decided somewhere along the line to give highest marks to those who were able to achieve the effect without the aid of . . . shall we say extraneous software.

Congratulations on the HM, anyway, and I just wish it had finished higher.

ETA: I did give this a 9 . . . just not the 11 it deserved.

Love it. Maybe his right hand could have been a bit more awkwardly positioned, but otherwise great attention to detail in the pose. And I love the bit of bare shoulder - had to go back to look and see why that :) IMO there were quite a number of excellent entries, but for my 10's I decided to go with those that looked as if they were done without the use of "painterly" software, and this fit the bill.

The mask, the cellphone, the sampler on the wall - such nice touches. I am bothered by the slight glow around her, most obvious, unfortunately, around her face and esp. eyes. But otherwise I like this a lot and find it perfectly in keeping with the challenge both in terms of subject and of editing. 10
