The Minerby brucedgatesComment: I really like the perspective here - very different from the other entries but it stands out. Top five. Voted earlier. |

Gloria by ZoomdakComment: Wow! The light and color are magnificent and that figure celebrating the new day day's end is very special. Voted earlier - top five and probably blue. Message edited by author 2013-02-01 08:56:45. |

fast way to the lobbyby klkitchensComment: Love the lens choice and distortion - the walls literally wrap around the lobby. Clearly meets the challenge and I love the processing. Top five. Voted earlier. |

Kidnapper v2 (PAW 5/52)by HarveyGComment: Well, I think this would do much better with the story - it's not at all apparent that the hawk has a chick and that the other bird is harassing him - and since you can't include that information in your title, I too would go with another image for Best Of. That said, I actually think the original looks more promising than the edited image presents. I prefer the lighter, less green blue and I think it looks as if there is more detail to be brought out in both without having the lighting look unbelievable. Did you try any lightening of the shadows? And if you used a denoise, did you erase it from the birds and leave it only on the sky? The main hawk looks slightly softer in the edited version than in the original.
This may all be my imagination. It's a fascinating capture for sure. |

shoe maker 2 (674x1024) (2)by thrumyiisComment: Unlike mariuca, I prefer the slightly simpler set-up you have here - but I do agree about the tones. I also think this background needs to be perfectly straight to be most effective. |

5 - Tethered to his Workby tvsometimeComment: Nice and sharp with good contrasts. The white spots in the wall behind his head bother me slightly - if I were going to tweak, I would clone them out. |

MJO_1798by MattOComment: Newsworthy for sure and eye-catching lighting though I, too, wonder about the source. |
