1st Fleet Memorial Gardensby MichaelCComment: Great perspective and subject for the challenge. I am not a fan of the pink and purple though I guess it does give this kind of the look of a game board and that has a certain appeal. |

Red, Rust & Blueby RamblinRComment: An HDR look suits this subject which is unquestionably suitable for the challenge. The effect, especially in the blues and on the background, is a bit much for me, but it still scores well. |

Blind / Leavesby PenelopeKComment: I cannot figure this one out but that's a good thing. A lovely and unexpected coming together of ordinary objects to create something mildly extraordinary. |

Shadow & Lightby Bear_MusicComment: What I love in this one, besides the wonderful grid and the texture of the bars, is that it's pretty much an optical illusion. For me, at least, the light just plays across the frame and the light and shadows seem to shift. Very nice. |

The Cross by markwileyComment: This has to be the Blue. The convergences/intersections/conjunctions are unmistakable, the perspective is amazing, the tones and focus are crisp. An easy 10 from me. |

Hollyhocks and Pearsby grahamgatorComment: This was second highest pick and a 9, Mary Ann. mariuca's is a good comment, I think, in that the Impressionists didn't do that many still lifes (maybe pre-Impressionism which Monet kind of is to me) and when they did, they were much sparer. But I will diverge from her on the use of the filter which I find imminently suitable for this lavish display - the heavy drape, the ruffly blossoms, the nest tucked in among the pears, even the vase. I found it wonderfully successful. |

The letterby NeatComment: This was actually my top pick - I am your only 10 and yours was my only 10 :) I found the scene perfect - my immediate thought was Berthe Morisot but others came to mind, too. I liked that it wasn't a re-creation of any that I knew but evoked them immediately, in light and tones as well as subject. And of course I didn't mind the art texture that seemed to me absolutely appropriate for the challenge. |

ImpressionszIMGP9314by tnunComment: I love the dancing light and colors behind the chorus line. I gave it a 6 and almost bumped it, but for me the foreground flower heads were too dark and heavy and static - they weighed it down where I wanted them to lift it up - or at least live up to the airiness and movement of the background.
