Still Life with Hatsby GermaineComment: I cheated this time and read Rich's comment first. I was already wondering about the "texture" on the glass - he thinks hoarfrost, I thought either just a very dirty window or an added texture and I think I'll still go with the latter as it seems to spread to the wood and window trim, unifying the whole very nicely. So maybe hoarfrost or heavy grime on the glass plus weathered and dirty wood, all emphasized in post.
To me the mood here is sad. This looks to be the window of a long-closed shop, one run by a woman who, one day, got too old to do it anymore and just walked away. |

Calendulas and Ranunculiby jomariComment: Amazing color and I quite enjoy the little "path" through the flowers which I can quite imagine some fairy or elfin creature enjoying. |

Taxidermy Shop Across the Wayby streetpigeonComment: Macabre juxtaposition . . . can it be juxta if the elements are contra?
So if you ring that bell, does anyone answer? I'm not sure I would want to find out. |

Through the Glassby GermaineComment: Ohhh, now this one I adore. The subtle interest of the wall - textures, cracks, tonal variations - and the window frame itself set off a reflective collection that I can explore for a very long time. I love it when it's not clear what's inside and what's outside; or maybe this is all outside but if that's the case, what's a chandelier doing hanging out there? For me each pane is a painting and the whole is yet another. I'm not crazy about the upper left one . . . it would be the last I would buy if I were collecting these one by one . . . but I'd be torn on the order of the others. For sure I think I'd get the three on the right first as they are each wonderful and the vertical triptych is very satisfying. |

Catby davwongComment: Such an unusual subject choice for infrared but I really enjoy the way it turned out. That's A LOT of vegetation for a kitten to get lost in. |

something happensby Bear_MusicComment: It happens to me, too, Bear. That's why I've learned never to eat the things . . . or only when it isn't really going to matter. |
