what is it--- another exampleby WagonwheelComment: im trapped in a trunk of a car thats been in a gun fight, or ive unloaded out through the roof of the trunk/boot in an attempt to free myself(although if you were in the trunk id be letting off a few round through the fire wall at the driver if i had to fire in an enclosed space) top littel hole looks like a devil with wings and horns :) and the sun star is an angel or good haha |

The Red Tasselby chaliceComment: despite not carrying about the technicals in this challenge the halo and distortion to the face annoy me, i want to be focusing on the tassel lost from a warriors sword in battle or ripped from a lovers outfit in passion yet im looking at the deity's head instead |

Apprehensionby ibkcComment: it seems far to bright but it has good intensity, the guy with the ar-15 type with his bulging biceps and his tight trousers and old boots are at contrast with what i'd assume he'd be wearing looser fitting combats and magnum types with aggresive treaded soles. the prostrated guy also has black combats on and both handguns appear to be glocks so im guessing this is a staged or practice not an atual apprehension plus youre far to close if it was a real situation. |

La Dentellièreby GilesComment: Thanks Paul and johana I didn't have high hopes for it but when I look at some of the images above it, ones that aren't even portraits I wondered. I count 4 or more that aren't portraits that are full body shots etc and johana's doesn't even have a face let alone eyes but I liked it.
This wasn't actually posed etc this was in my kitchen before we went on a walk.
And I didn't set up the camera really I forgot it was minimal so I bet picture style was on faithful I do have it on smallest JPEG but always use the raws I should have setup a custom picture style.
You're right about the 6mm focus plane it requires careful setup and angling of the face and yep ppl shooting f5.6 kits lens don't understand or seem to like the shallow dof which I love
I read your lens comparison article btw was really interesting .
I'll post up my alternatives |

Where the eagles areby jgirl57Comment: it leads me in, but it doesnt deliver me to anything, i dont like the halo'ing on the left hand rail and the small bird isnt enough interest in the picture. its very bland colour wise and would have suited b/w better and if youd have walked forward another 15' i think it would have been better for it, showing me the trees and the horizon. |
