FenceNZresized.jpgby cujeeComment: Cool shot! I love the leading lines of the fence (I am a sucker for a lot of things in photography and fences happen to be one of them). Your exposure is spot on, and I think you did good considering how it was. If you haven't done any dodging and burning in Photoshop, this shot would be a perfect candidate to selectively darken the bright spots, especially the bright bit on the right. Nicely done! |

Fall Leavesby LadyKComment: Wow, I love love LOVE the colors here. Very nicely saturated. I like the diagonal composition with the DOF, works out gracefully and nicely. Those oranges are very impressive. |

Squirrelby LadyKComment: Fun! Good composition with the rule of thirds and great DOF! I think a small crop at the bottom would really make it stronger. Nice capture. |

Goat on a Missionby LadyKComment: Splotchy light shots are always a little tricky. I can never seem to pull them off, either the bright spots are exposed right or the shadows with no in-between, so you definitely get kudos here as you pulled it off well with being able to get a good enough exposure for the midtones. Good work. |

Roseby LadyKComment: Cool! I see the lens that you are using here has 7 aperature blades. Anyway, those glistening of the background is really cool, I have never been able to pull it off the way you have here. How'd you do this? The only thing I thin would make it stronger is that the crop on the right feels a tad tight, again, I'm just being picky as its a wonderful capture. Has a nice dramatic feel. |

Mountain and Skyby LadyKComment: Oh wow! This is just wonderful. I am a total sucker for landscape shots. Excellent exposure and composition. I would really like to see this one with a little bit of the top cropped a bit making the part where the land meets the lake on the bottom thirds line. I feel that would make it stronger visually as the sky seems to dominate in this shot. Wonderfully done! |

Orchid Blooms in a Mirrorby chaliceComment: At first it was hard to tell there was a mirror. It's a good shot, but seems there seems to be something that really pulls the viewer in. Technically sound shot overall. Maybe higher dynamic range could have helped with a variance of lights and darks created by a single, strong light source. |

There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects itby LuvLiveSmileComment: It's a neat little setup, I like how the green candle lines up right to have the flame in the mirror. What's difficult here is the lightning. It looked like your camera picked a higher sensitivity or ISO due to less available light, that's where all the chroma and luminance noise come from giving it that more snapshotish look. Try have one strong, dominant light source, you'd be amazed at the difference it can make. Hope that helps! |

White Vanby jaysvetteComment: I probably wouldn't have noticed the white van if it weren't for the title. There is a lot going on in the picture which makes it hard for the eye to settle on something. The shot is technically sound though, great exposure and clarity. Good luck and happy shooting! |
