I dig the graininess- it goes with the raspberry red of the shot- and great placement in the frame- altogether very nice.

This to me signals a peacefulness and the end; its got that great fall weathered quality and the composition is safe - yet it leads the eye to the edges of the frame and says there is more there- The sky looks like concrete- and is ominoue- but the eye of the viewer - or at least me- is drawn through the different shades of lawn- the balance of yellow leaves on the trees and ground just smoothing out the color profile. I do like it. Sorry for the psudo intellectual review- I try to look for a painting/art perspective- ans this photo has it.

This is a really pretty shot- its a got good balnce and very interesting light. The clouds are great- but the viewers eye cannot rest there in this shot- it is forced to look first at the bicycle, then at the at the path; but the eye gets waylayed on the bird; which is nice and leads to a total lack of rest and peace.
So -you describe the place as peaceful and restful and it looks just that way- the morning adventure on the waterway- the stop at the water froma bikeride- but the viewer- or the traveller- can't really rest. and ther eis the irony- that makes it interesting.

This really illustrates that the sky is, from top down, ultramarine blue, then cobalt in the middle,and then cerulean near the horizon; fantastic colors in this shot.

Well; its a great composition, and there is certainly excellent lighting. The boy may be a bit too close to the center for comfort; the eye ends up settling in on the boy, soaking in the light, and then falling right off of the left side of the frame; there is so much movement in the shot that you can't think stillness- and maybe that contrast works- but, to illustrate what I am saying, even the shadows off the rocks in the water make arrows that force the eye to look where the boy is looking. I really like how his body is facing backwards but he is looking forwards, perhaps looking down might have held the eye in the frame;

Nevertheless; despite my rambling; its a great shot with excellent execution and tremendous feel/
