Velvetby VenomComment: You really have to look at this shot for a while and then you can see the smoothness throughout the whole shot; the skin of the bone, the background. An excellent peace and stillness in the captured moment. |

Welcome Travelerby JovanComment: Excellent shot; great eye; perfect crop. The textures are freaking amazing here- wood (oak v. pine) brick - the lighting; very nice. The no food or drink sign kind of doesn't help. But all in all, superb. |

Tempe Town Lake Structureby FaustoComment: Nice, robotic, California style, lots of glass and concrete, super green blues, Great detail;- the lampost- fantastic; high marks here; its not a "textbook" pretty shot, but it is intersting. |

C O P P E Rby h2Comment: I love the colors and the detail on the plant that makes it look like grain... I gues I would like to see a bit more negative space and placement in a sweet spot rather than dead center. |

Summer Nightsby wildirisComment: Simple; like a painting; great use of red and perspective with the white fence; The soccer goal is a bit anachronistic,and thats just a minor issue. Nice how the subject fills the frame and squeezes out the dark sky pointing to the heavens. |

Where else, but Queensland?by SinkyComment: I like the colors your have going in the sky; youv'e got ultramarine above the city- cobalt an dcerulean to the right upper side; and payne's gray as shadows and water. Theres a bit of a sharpening effect as well as a skew to the photo thats a bit unnatural; but this, overall, is spectacular. |

And Fire In The Skyby hotpastaComment: Excellent post apocalyptic look at a city scape. The city breathes in metal and roads and glass and then sprawls out to recede into the red horizon. There may be a bit of an exposure problem with the sun; and there may be not enough focal points in the sweet spot- the viewers eye gets spread out a bit too much. But all in all I still think its great. |

Over the Top by AnnComment: Whats really great about this shot is that you have the colors and the setup of a landscape; even a nice object positioned there. Very well done, Nice work. |

Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam at Bonnarooby riotspyneComment: I love live shots; and you have a good one here; I have some mission of burma shots, and some dinosaur jr shots that I really like;
To me, there is not much worse that a live shot that is stone cold focused, has aflashfilled face and a midnight black background. Pearl Jam is not that, Pearl Jam is grainy. Alive. you have captured their spirit here. Excellent.
By the way , I finds it ironic that you like to sharpen and cool your shots, when they otherwise convey such great warmth in the subjects- and as it follows,I suppose, in the artist. Just an observation. Message edited by author 2008-07-27 21:31:19. |
