With a little help from your friend by PaulComment: Originally posted by LanndonKane: Originally posted by Paul: Originally posted by Lydia: I'm not at all into the whole lesbian thing, but the colors and light here are gorgeous. 9 |
I thank you for your generous vote but I certainly don't see any 'lesbian thing' going on here. It's just an extension of one figure nude into two figure nudes - it was the continuation of form, and in this case function, we were after. It's a tricky modelling feat to give great shapes under load like this. Some from this short set had more interesting angled poses but this one had the best 'lightbulb' hand and gave emphasis to the challenge theme. I could have done a similar shot clothed - it would have been different but probably still effective; it's just not how it worked out within the wider set, but I don't think the nudity (within the depicted context) says anything about sexual orientation. Why would it? |
yeah, seriously... |
In a sense, I believe you and agree with you Paul. These are women models, nudes, and although there is undeniable overt sexuality to the photograph, there is nothing to suggest lesbianism, no stereotypes, no modern love scene of a shot: simply art- or to prudes, "candy photography." Crime sceneby PaulComment: Exercise kills again(they died mid-plank!) You are certainly my hero, for the photography of course, but no less for the endless supply of beautiful women, scantily clad and uniquely posed! |

Atwaterby davidwComment: At first there is a feeling of absolute bleakness- perhaps the black sky lends to that a bit. But then, the mist rises a bit, and we are left with a loneliness, a Tuesday morning alone feel, staring into the distance, waiting for friends to get off of work. |

exactly-(even though your response was well taken). such great details- the older woman dancing, the topless bird flipper, the stoned eyes-all very good. Message edited by author 2015-02-23 14:17:39. |

The Lost Hatby snafflesComment: I like it. the pen and ink feel- the horse head and tail are terrific. I am guessing that people did not care for the border, the tilt, the title(can't make sense of the hat equation)- and perhaps the blown out body-into sky feel-something like that. But still quite a worthy shot. |
