Sorry for the comment yesterday, bad day. I agree with the title, it is a very nice image of a sunset, when you can I would clone out the power line it's distracting. However being a nice photo of a sunset does not make it a still life no matter how good it is.

Sorry for my comment yesterday, it was a very bad day and I kind of took it out on everyone. Your image.... interesting idea for still life but isn't sweeping a motion? The curled up broom bristles definitly imply motion to me at least. I think you would have beed better off laying it down on it's side on a pile of leaves or something like that, I would be more willing to call something of that nature a still life. DOF also needs work, very few photos are effective with the blur in the forground unless it is very strong, and even then it works better in the background to imply depth, it's a visual thing.

I'm sorry for my comment yesterday it was out of line, rack it up to a very bad day. As far as your image goes I feel it's too dark with bad lighting and little interest. Sorry if that offends. Composition is alright and the idea of the use of dead space is interesting but it definitely needs some work.

Sorry for the comment yesterday, rack it up to a very bad day. This is a very nice image, good macro work. The background could be a little darker, if you hold something above to cast a shadow behind, and that would make it a stronger image. However as nice as a macro shot as it is, I don't feel that it meets the topic for still life. I know this is a controversial subject here right now, but that is my opinion.
