Nice shot though the angle of the board doesn't quite work for me personally, I do like the shadows of the ships on the bottom though, nice touch. A 6

Not exactly sure how this meets the challenge, is the person they are listening to talking to them about quitting smoking or are they not really listening because they are too busy smoking or ?????????? what?

The grain in this shot works very well for it. I normally don't like grain but it looks good with this shot. Makes it more realistic to me. A 6

Why what? Not sure where the conflict is on this shot. Not a bad shot but the shadows in the shot are very distracting and the yellow tinge around the bottom of his boot is also a bit distracting. The cropping at first looked a bit off to me but I see how you probably wanted to include the shadow on this shot. A 6 to start and if you could let me know how it meets the challenge I'll probably be able to go another point

Took me a second to understand the title from the shot but finally saw the cross in the center, duh! This is a very interesting shot, the textures, the black and white, the contrast, all very well done. Not sure about really meeting the challenge aspect but still a great shot. An 8

Yeah, I guess so and it's not a bad shot of the bison/buffalo though the cropping seems just a bit off, could be a tad tighter on the right or a tad looser on the left. The dark color of the buffalo is lost, no real detail while the rest shows great detail. A 5

Interesting take on the challenge, conflict with the game. Those games are hard too but I had to really look to try to see what he was playing. Maybe a different angle that showed a bit more of the game and a look of fustration on the model's face? The black and white works well here but the focus seems to be on the lettering on the shirt, overall sharper focus would really help the shot pop for me. A 6

I'm guessing the conflict is between the warmth of the tower to the cold of the outside? Or is it the classical fight of good (the church) vs. evil (the outside world). So it meets the challenge on either of those levels.

As for the shot, the white roof (?) on the bottom left is very distracting to me. If you were to crop just above that line and still keep the door in the shot it would make a huge difference on my score. The contrast is also just a bit wanting. A 6

Greetings from the Critique Club!

This is a very interesting image, so much too look at and really make you wonder just what you are through with. The diet or the junk food, LOL!

As for the shot, as I mentioned, very busy, so much to look at and to try to figure out exactly what you are going for. Upon looking very closely I can see the garbage bag around the bottom on the bottom left but the marshmellows under the bottle and book just don't seem to set right if you were shooting down into the bag. There is nothing supporting them, you know? Also the cropping seems just a bit off for some reason, maybe if the bottle top was completely in the shot? Too many things cut off, nothing completed leaving a sense of wanting in the shot. The colors are well done and the contrast is there also as well as the lighting. Not a bad shot overall, just a few little things that seemed a bit off.
