Not a bad idea for the challenge but this leaves me wanting. The look on the person's face is just not convincing to me. There is no pain, no shock, no anger, just a dull, drugged out look, more emotion from him would have really helped this shot. Also the lighting is too dark overall for me and yes my monitor is calibrated. A 5

Ahhhhhhhh, this is stretching it to meet the challenge and the shot seems very off to me for some reason. Not sure if it's the angle, the light in the lower left or the fact that the penny is spinning and you see the ghosts of the edges. A 5

An AA card would have been even more conflicting and made as strong a statement. Not a bad shot but the composition leaves me off balance just a bit and maybe that is your intention. The glass getting cut off on the bottom and the bottle being cut off just seems disorienting to me. The DOF is wonderful though but it could just just a touch more contrast. An 8

Oooooooooo, perfect conflict, especially for parents. I love this idea and the shot is wonderful though a bit too soft for my taste. I like the coloration you did though and the overall composition of the shot. A bit sharper, just a tad and this would have had a 10 from me. As is a 9

Nice idea, the conflict of chocolate vs. weight control. But the fun part is now you can have your chocolate and lose weight too! ;)

A good idea but the execution leaves me wanting. The table cloth is wrinkled and a bit distracting, perhaps another color? The shadows created from the light are also a bit distracting overall the size of the shot it a bit small to me. A 5

Nice soccer shot but not really feeling the conflict overall. Despite the title the feet look in the wrong places for one player to be stealing it from the other. Nice colors, good lighting. A 5

Wow! Talk about a battle of the elements! Not a bad shot overall, though to meet the challenge is a bit of stretch to me but it works. The angle of the shot is a bit disorienting, the way it seems to lean away from you almost makes you think it's ready to fall down. The cropping seems off a bit on the bottom left also. A 6

I thought about this too, the conflict of war but decided not too. A good idea but the set up is a bit distracting in the end. The DOF is wonderful, the clarity of the one soldier but the background is very distracting and keeps drawing me away from the main subjects of the shot. A 6

That is one big shotgun with one little person, yikes! The shot is good, the lighting is almost perfect except the shadows across the body from different lights is a bit distracting though it does lend to the conflict of the shot itself. The look on the model's face is perfect and the way the barrell of the gun disappears in the background but the shadow is whole is very nice. A 8

Well, that is different. I've been looking at this one in the thumbnails all week deciding if I even wanted to look at it closer and now that I have, I'm still not impressed by the idea or the shot. Lack of contrast and light overall make this a boring shot to me and I can't really see the conflict. I only see the hate side, where is the love side? A 5
