Spring Parkby CreativeFlyPhotoComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Hello! This is a nice shot overall, well composed and balanced. But it seems to be missing something, it doesn't jump off the screen and make me want to go to that park and go relax. It also seems just a tad tilted to the left making me feel just a bit off balance. I used my magic envelope and cropped off the bottom on my screen and that made a big difference to start. Also maybe boosting up the contrast just a bit to really help bring out the colors of the shot and make them jump out so it will grab my attention. Looking at your portfolio I noticed that a lot of the shots are well nice, I especially like the bearded dragon (I used to have one) but alot of them also looked a bit flat.
Also the background in the shot is very busy with the playground and that's okay, at least it's not filled with kids to really make the shot too busy :) But again, with the magic of my trusty envelopes I cropped it a little tighter on the sides, bringing the left to the left edge of the arch and the right side so the bench and trash can was gone. Again, big difference! I tried taking some off the top but that really hurt the shot, the trees really make this shot, offering a cover and a border at the same time.
Hope this helps and if you do adjust this shot, I would love to see the new version.
Good Luck In Future Challenges!

Ollie in Wonderland by rileyComment: Congrats on third place! I never got back to this one during the challenge, it was one of my favs and am glad to see it did so well. The nose on the left did throw me off at first though, I knew it would be discolored but I did'nt expect it to lose all it's color through the window. Excellent capture either way and congrats again!

It's my turn to torture you BIG sister!by NeuferlandComment: Thank you everyone for your great comments! We had a lot of fun taking this picture. I will be posting a shot of the girls, actual size on my PBase account soon and link it so everyone can see. I focused on the green grass between the girls, set the camera on automatic and got really lucky!
Thank you everyone for your votes! |

Daddy Long Legsby boomerComment: Very good idea but the shot leave me wanting more. The composition of the shot seems off, lack of focus and the cropping also seems off to me. The way the shadow got cut off on the left. I do like the fact that I can't see the camera shadow, a lot of people forget about that and it usually ruins the shot for me. A 3 |

Equal Halfs?by torrenzanoComment: Two halves that still can't make a whole :) A different idea for sure and it is well proportioned but that's about all that appeals to me in this shot. The lack of contrast and light make this a dull shot to look at for me. a 3 |

guitars at restby taterbugComment: Not a bad idea but the execution of the shot leaves me really wanting. The size of the shot, the lack of focus, the background is very distracting overall and the cropping leaves something to be desired, especially on the right side. This could be a great shot with a solid backdrop and a larger size photo.and focus. a 3 |
