Track and Fieldby dharmesonComment: I'll be the first, maybe second to say this and I"m sure not the last but it's supposed to be WITHOUT players, you are going to probably get a lot of lower scores because of that. Nice capture, good expressions but the overall shot doesn't really do anything for me and the fact you included people also loses points. A 4 |

People Watching...by basia03Comment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Ahhh, the one who took my favorite Strength Shot! ;)
People Watching is a bad habit for some, a good habit for others and I think I know what you are going for here but it's hard to pull off in public places, getting that shot that combines all the elements you want when they are all random to start with. There is a lot of color and distracting elements in this shot. Maybe taking it to black and white or sepia would help with that point of the shot. Not sure what cropping you did but the woman on the right could be your focal as the one doing the watching, bring her into the shot more if possible? And a slightly tighter crop on the left taking out the two men, just leaving the women? The older one watching the younger one? If you do any tweaking to this shot I would love to see the results! Keep shooting, you're getting better every time!

Poker Nightby zeke123caComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Welcome to DPChallenge! I see this is your second challenge entry. You have the right idea here, it's a bad habit unless you win! ;)
You got a lot of great comments during the challenge, most of them echoing what I would say.
First, try coming from a higher angle or remove the cards in the background but I would like to see a different angle, bringing just the hand the money into the center of attention. The back cards are very distracting.
It's a little bright, maybe tone down the light just a bit or use a reflector to bring the light without the glares.
Other than that, not a bad idea! If you do reshoot this I would love to see the new pictures!

Watchin the Trainsby OneSweetSinComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
This is an interesting shot but I don't really find anything unusual about the viewpoint. You are looking from balcony of your apartment or a friend's place I assume, a place that someone could go to anytime to watch the trains. Now, if you were on the track behind the train or on the overpass over the tracks, that would be a little more unique.
The sky seems a bit dull overall, like mentioned in the comments, a polorizer or some after processing, to make it a bit richer and add some color.
I tried some different cropping from other sides but there is nothing that really jumps out at me. The shot comes off more as a snapshot type candid shot. I had given it a 5 during the challenge because of the above comments. It just came across as average and not much to save or work with for this challenge.

banana's architectureby slonkoComment: Abstract, which is usually not of my favorite type of shots but this one is so excellently done. A bit of grain, maybe just a touch of neat image to smooth it out a bit. A 9 |
