The kids in Americaby PhilosComment: Nice capture overall, I like the light to shadow from left to right and the look on the model is very nice. A good portrait shot on the whole but it doesn't really say 80's to me in that sense, this could be from any decade. A 7 |

A Decade of Musicby BrianRComment: Nice shot, good tones overall but nothing that really jumps out at me and yells 80's or WOW! A good stock photo on the plus side and maybe if you had come from the other angle so you could see the front of the guitars it would have more impact for me personally. A 6 |

When Tapes Ruledby stare_at_the_sunComment: I really like this shot. Tapes were the big thing, portable and you could fast forward!
The shot is well done, balanced, the tones are set well, the only thing that bothers be is all the debris and marking on the one CD, not exactly sure why you did that but it's a bit distracting to me on the whole, would have liked to seen it as clean as the others. As is a 7 |

Invisible attackerby henningComment: Cool! Nice shot! I like the way you either used a double exposure or long exposure. The 'ghost' peice is setup just right for this idea. I like the composition of the shot, the overall feel and the use of black and white was a good choice but the problem I have is the lack of actual black to white, I see black and lots of gray but no real white, exept maybe on the very front peice where it looks like the light is blown out on the top for some reason. A grain effect would have worked wonderfully with this shot I think even though I don't normally like grain effect photos, LOL A 7 |

The Masterby MAKComment: Wow, up close and personal and scary! :)
Yes, they can be the masters of camouflage and disguise and while this is a wonderful macro of said Praying Mantis, it's not really being hidden or camouflaged very well now is it? I would have liked this much better if it was further back and showing me how it was hiding itself. The focus seems a bit soft overall, even on the face part. But again, wonderful effort on the whole. A 7 |

now you see me...now you don'tby birdyblueComment: Ewwwww! BUG!!! Bugs bug me, LOL! :)
This is a good take on the challenge and I like the way it's using the rule of thirds to draw your attention to that upper right corner to your little buddy there. Good focus overall, lighting is also well done and the overall composition is also well done. My one thing I personally notice is the jump out at me factor, just a bit dull in color but in a way that works with this because it's old wood and you certainly don't expect old wood to jump out at you, unless of course it's camouflaging a bug! LOL! An 8 |

An Army Man At Workby aledfcComment: Good job! I had to go looking for him! If this is a real army man he's doing a good job, if it's not, someone is playing well at army.
This is a great concept on the challenge but the thing that pops out at me first is that white hose or pipe down the right hand side. And when you're trying to draw attention away from yourself, that's okay but I personally feel for this purpose it's not useful at all. A tighter crop would have worked better for this or having the open space on the left if possible. The person hiding did a great job with the clothes and such but their one mistake that I can see is the lips. Pink as can be, LOL! Stand right out there! Also the colors seem just a bit flat, maybe turn up the contrast or curves just a touch to make them pop out? A 5 |
