Beautiful photo. To me the birds are really not the subject. It took me a while to even properly see them. Even when I did, though, the birds still seemed like an afterthought.

Minimalist Bird in Flight

I think it still needs to be cropped. The thick black bars really emphasize to me that the subject is not large enough. If the sky had more shape or features in the mostly empty (though beautiful) area in the right half of the photo, perhaps the cropping would work for me.

Look What I Can Do ...

The shot is too dingy and washed out. A different title embracing or explaining might fix it. As it is, the color (or lack thereof) is really distracting. Also, I'm not sure if anything is in focus, but I wish the head of the flyer was.

I wish the dark spots on the water above and below the head weren't there -- they are very distracting. On a second look at this photo, I have decided that I really like the focus, wing motion blur and water droplets visible on the abdomen and dripping off the feet and tail. I just wish the water wasn't so dingy looking.

It seems like the background is in focus, not the subject. I think if the background was water, sky, or just bokeh I would love the shot.

I'm not happy with the focus of this shot. It feels like a shot that depends on it being sharply in focus and just isn't. Also the glare in the eye seems unlucky as I think that also detracts. The wing position and spots on the wing are just awesome. Great subject!

By far my favorite thing about this photo is the dark/light contrast in each feather on the wings' trailing edges. I wish I could see the bird's head or where it's looking or where it may be headed. Also, the white diagonals in the corners are very distracting.

Nice. I wish your black bars weren't so think. Also, I wish there was more sky in the shot; it seems too crowded around the edges. The perfectly centered center bird seems to distract as well. I think I would have really like this one a lot more if you just cropped just to the left of the rightmost bird to have just one subject.
