It's Probably Meby arnitComment: Returning for comment. A nice humorous shot--Interesting expression and use of shallow depth of field. |

Not Rockwellby graphicfunkComment: Returning for comment the second time (the first it timed out on me!). Very good technical studio work, as usual, and I especially like the "character" method of this portrait, as it tells me you are also an artist, and a portrait should, in my opinion, tell me something about the subject rather than just a mug shot. It does, however, have a bit of a posed look with you drawing the camera/photographer, whereas if you weren't looking at the camera, it might appear candid and more natural. I think that you were going for the dynamic interaction with the viewer though, and you achieved it. |

My Epiphanyby JasComment: Returning for comment: Very dynamic pose, as dressed has a good "austin powers" style humorous look in it. Nice work. |

iby HomunculusComment: Good pose, nice composition. Perhaps this needed some leveling--it looks a bit muddy/flat to me--I would guess the whites are on the side of gray here. |

Deep Depression of the Code Cutterby BooZonComment: Returning for comment. Nice shot; I like the angular composition but I think it might have been a little stronger if your head hadn't ended up in the center. Good lighting and tones. |

Consumedby casualguyComment: The lighting and overall feel of this photo is really great. It's one of those pics that evokes a great mood and draws you in. It would be a 10, but in the category of self portrait, I'm not sure that it is as strong. But a wonderful photo overall (9) |

Blurred Interlude by jjbeguinComment: Exquisite tones, this has a superb feel to it. I'm not sure I understand the context as a self portrait/story, but it works visually. Bumping to 10. |

Reflections on an Unfinished Meby KaDiComment: This is excellent. A great idea and well implemented. First I thought this was a mirror, but now I'm guessing it's a print. Either way, it works well. Wish I'd thought of that! 10 from me! |

Layer mask by kiwinessComment: Excellent - good use of B&W and well placed and painted mud/camoflauge. I predict a blue, unless a pretty young female takes it from you ;) Solid 10 from me. |

Part of meby vivienComment: Vivien, right? You are very photogenic and this is a great shot (as have been the shots for your profile images.) I like the way you've done this high key, and there seems to be a motion/brush stroke texture that I really like here, though I'm can't exactly tell how it was done. I like the post, the clarity, but the crop is in-between the extremes, which could make the difference between a good and a really great photo. I see a number of really interesting crops here. One is a relatively square crop in the upper right, showing just your eyes and the bridge of your nose (hard to see exactly the shape of the crop here, since I am just using my hands to simulate it). Another would be to try and find a lower end crop, again moving more towards a square here, which I think works well with the head angle. You are lucky to have such a beautiful subject to photograph. I had a lot less to work with ;) Bumping up. |
