Looking at these for your entry. I love the scene here and the composition. The light looks like it's wonderfully interesting. But something seems calibrated wrong. It seems too dark, or maybe just too low contrast. You might tweak it a little. Depending on how it prints, it could be a real contender.

Wonderful Skip! Love the motion but most of all, the feeling of glee. Did you try taking any from on a ride? That might make for a great motion blur shot. But I'm too chicken myself.

This is interesting, but definitely not calm.

This one is a very nice "abstract" illusion--hard to tell it's rolls of paper. Again, you might try some different crops.

Another good one for calm, but seem my comments on your other image, about crops which apply here too.

This works well for calm-though perhaps less abstract for the strict of definition, since it's clear that these are ripples.

I think it might be better, if you want to try, if it were straighter, and maybe cropped to show only part of the circular ripples (something I've been learning is interesting with my rotating camera shots).

And then of course, you can also try rotating it to an unnatural orientation, which makes it even more abstract.

Wowser. Great decisive moment capture. I hope no one was hurt and I'm especially glad you were donwn there shooting rather than up there skiing.

Love this one--I was in the middle of commenting it when the challenge ended. (10 from me!). super. Should have finished higher, but that's DPC.

I sent you an email about this, but I wanted to leave a comment on the photo. I think this is really great--I like all the different sources of pink, including the blush on your daughter's cheeks. I especially like the way it's composed here--the way she fits in with the background. I see what others are saying about the shadow, but I didn't even notice it until I read the other comments, so while I think it would improve the photo to control them, I don't think it is an issue here.
