Great shot indeed. I've never seen one of those here-I am guessing they are not in the northeast. To bad, they are very cool!

My only suggestion is to see if you can bring any detail back to the petals of the white flower -- is it off the histogram, or is this just how it was?

I think this is very well done, one of the better entries in the challenge. I think the "lower" average isn't an issue of 1's and 2's--the distribution is quite normal for here, and it has a strong mean at 5. I think the scoring issue is simply DPC tastes. The image lacks the pop or subject twist that is popular here. For what it's worth, I gave it a 7; to me the dark solid border detracks from it's delicate pastel tones and the composition could have been a bit stronger.

This has a good feel overall, and exposure and sharpness are good. To me the composition does not have good aesthetics due to the strong presence of the stems and where they end at the top. Subjectively, my brain sees that part of the picture is missing, more strongly than it sees a nice shot of the glass with some color balance.

I am tempted to say that if you cut the shot at the top of the vase to crop most of the neck out it might work better, but there are downsides to that as well.

The above analysis may just be my own tastes, but since you asked for comments, there they are for your consideration.

I like the colors and overall feel. I think this particular composition, or the way the rope is positioned, seems a bit busy and yet lacks a pattern or some other form of harmony. Also, in this case I think all the foreground rope should have been in focus.
