Retired Fire Fighterby shadowComment: This is a good (and interesting) shot overall. What might improve it? It looks as though a bit more contrast would add punch. Also, the left edge crop is very tight.
On a reshoot, you might consider the following: the ceiling matches the ladders, and thus, it doesn't stand apart from its background. In fact, if you look around the setting, there's more of that--the reddish wall on the left, the bright background versus the highlights. Recompose, or even using fill flash to allow the background to be darker in general might make it really stand out.

bugslife.jpgby MAKComment: Looks like a good sharp capture. Lighting seems pretty good as well. I suggest cropping the right significantly, taking his head out of the center. I'm not a slave to the rule of thirds, but this doesn't appear to be a case of exception. |

plasmic by ursulaComment: Haven't had much time here lately, so I didn't get to go through the bubbles shots. But this is GORGEOUS! Congratulations! |

Prisoner of Circumstance by typologicComment: Excellent! This is exactly what I wanted to do for Bubbles -- put someone in a bubble using the monitor trick. In the end, I didn't do a shot for the challenge because I've not wanted to spend time specifically on challenges (though I did go outside and try some big bubbles and shooting them for fun, and almost used one of those).
But I'm glad I didn't because this would have blown mine away. It's not enough to put someone in the bubble--this works so well because of your excellent shot in the bubble! Congratulations. |

CollinsBridge.jpgby saracatComment: This is the clear winner of the three. I am mixed about the strong backlighting though. On the one hand, it's different and interesting that way. On the other hand, it seems to dominate. I think some other processing techniques might help to emphasize the bridge, if they are allowed in the contest. For one thing, you could try an "old time" treatment, allowing the edges to vignette with "age".
Anyway, it's hard to see a solution without playing with it, and it's actually nice as is! So when you are satisfied with this one, it's ready for entry! |

Ménage à Troisby BebeComment: Very good triangle entry. The colors just pop and dance in this one. The triangles themselves are very strong and have that cool metallic look! |
