One-legged Wait for ?by paradiverComment: You're going to take a few hits for meeting the challenge, and I'm not sure I would agree that it meets the challenge. Perhaps so. Interesting shot, but the white background (which you couldn't help!) takes something away. |

Reluctant Modelby scrum8Comment: I wish you hadn't feathered so much, I found it distracting. Could be a great image. Wonder how it would look with a black background (except you might "lose" his hair that way). i do like the expresion you caught. Just get rid of that feathering! lol |

As Himselfby davidbedardComment: I like this a lot. What I like is the expression you've captured, the way you cropped the photo, the contrasts and levels in black ad white. The whitish background is a bit noisy but this is a fine photograph. |

Jessamynby hopperComment: Lovely, and I have two suggestions: a bit more DOF so her shoulder is in focus, and move that one strand of hair from her right cheek. Otherwise flawless job. Oh...I don't like the white frame the way you did it, but remember, that's just an issuse of taste. I like the white surrounded by solid black. Lovely model and you did her proud! |

HOW YOU DOINGby TLL061Comment: Seems more like a candid snap than a portrait. I guess technically it's a portrait, but the subject's head is actually a very small portion of the total image and not well lit at that. Hard to get much from what's here... |

Playfulby TommyMoe21Comment: I wish her hair was lit better. The drink is sort of unfocused, oddly, because everything else is well focused. For my tastes, too much black so I would have cropped closer. Mostly, though, give that hair some light! |

Ericby MousieComment: Nice job. It doesn't pop out from the competition, but there's not much to complain about either. There is something behind his shoulders (greyish) that's distracting. |

Model in daffodilsby KevinRiggsComment: Shucks, that looks like a wedding ring. Anyhoo, pretty darn good portrait. Skin tones are flawless, focus is perfect, DOF good. My only nit is the crop at the bottom. That one daffodill between her wrists is distracting. |

A Manby ellamayComment: Wow...great character study. Perfect, spot on focus, fabulous DOF. Might have cropped slightly closer on each side, but this is a terrific portrait no matter what. Deserves a nice expensive frame and a place on someone's wall. |
