Red Pepper and Shadowsby PenelopeKComment: This is a good example of where I almost prefer untitled art. This is a pristinely presented abstract, and for me at least, the painterly textural processing is an inspired choice to elevate the shadow play into that abstract realm. I would almost prefer NOT knowing it's a pepper on a plate. :-) |

Film Noir by KristjanUnnarComment: Love it. Probably my favorite in the challenge. Literally my only (teensy) nit is that I wish the light placement were just a tiny bit elevated off the table so that the surface glare beneath the camera legs was just a bit less distracting. My eye keeps wanting to go there rather than to the center of the subject, where it seems to be intended. But overall a superb and cinematically evocative composition. |
