Great image, nice emotional impact. Definitely fits the all alone description. Use of black & white is exceptional as is the lighting and focus. Very well done. This is such a sad image especially with the title, made an immediate connection. 10

Yikes.. remodelling? Fits alone in general, though I don't get the feeling of loneliness or solitude from the image. Good lighting, though I think it'd be better a little brighter, colors show well. Nice focus. Cute title. 5

Interesting image, I like the contrast of the black & white, and the design/texture coming from the static. Great focus and nice use of light. However, I don't think this really fits the all alone challenge - I'm not able to see a connection at least. Technically a good image, just didn't connect for me on a challenge level. 7 due to good tech and interesting idea, would've been higher if I saw how it fit the challenge.

Heh, interesting image. Fits alone well, though I don't get a solitary or lonely vibe from it. Nice lighting, great silhouette work. I wish the floor was black or another solid color to keep the image in a stark/solid mode. Also, the thing on the floor on the left (maybe a stand of some sort?) could easily be cropped out. Nice photo over all. 5

Alone in the shadows

I like the idea behind this image, as evidenced by the title, but I think it needs to be lightened up just a bit because the image is practically indistinguishable. That may be what you were looking for artistically, but I can't determine who or what is alone in the shadows and that really affects my interest in the image. I think with a little bit more light you could still have the shadow affect, while letting in more detail for the viewer. 3

Seems a bit of a stretch for the challenge, I don't get a feeling of solitude or loneliness from the image. I think its a good photo technically, though. Nice colors, great use of natural light. The focus seems a bit soft, but its not a huge deal. Simply doesn't connect for me in general interest or under the challenge. 6 due to good tech. merit.

Excellent colors, use of natural light looks perfect. I like the expansive feel of the man vs. ocean. Great human interest. Fits the challenge very well. Focus is good, and so is composition. I find the tilted horizon to be the only major drawback for me. I can't tell if it was a deliberate choice, but it does distract for me. Well done! 7

Great use of natural light, excellent focus and the color is crisp and appealing. I don't really see a connection to the challenge though. Broadly there's one church pictured, but I do not sense a feeling of solitude or loneliness. Technically, a fabulous picture - just misses the mood the challenge detailed for me. Still nice look. 7
