Very nice closeup of the cat - I love the detai and the textures of the fur shown. Are there two of them though? The shadows make the eye on the right seem like it belongs to a second animal. Also, I don't really get a feeling of solitude or loneliness from the image, though I think it fits the challenge in general. Still a good capture. 6

I think this is a beautiful image, the composition is great, the image fresh and crisp. The bright color of the star does separate it a bit from the image, but the fact that there are other pieces in it makes it seem less alone than it could. Still a great photo! 8

A simple image can always be one of the more powerful. I like the use of negative space. The candle makes the red glow nicely. Definitely fits the challenge, I just wish the focus wasn't so soft. The softness does work in the image, but I think it could still use a little sharpening. Overall a very nice photo. 6

Great use of space, I like the contrast of the shadow and light - but I must say that the dog does blend a little, I wish more detail of the animal could be seen. I also think the photo is rendered a little small. Meets the challenge very well, great background - high interest. Well done. 7
