I'm not a great photographer, so take my comments for what they're worth to you. Generally if you are going to shoot a statue, you need to put some type of unique spin on it. The straight on shot gives little viewer interest and the surrounding area of park detracts further.

An off center or possibly square crop would work better. Also, I think it would looked better if you had used some color in your toning.

I'm assuming this is a tree, either dead or dying? It's very dark and a bit out of focus. You're probably getting hammered in voting because there is really not much to hold your attention.

The falls probably would have been a bit more dramatic if you could have gotten a bit closer and focused more of the play of the rocks with the water. As is, it's just a bit to distant to really add much to the image.
