I thought this was a hard enough image to look at, to be honest. I think the lack of a proper division between the two images is what makes it feel off to me.
Definitely tells a story, but it really needed your notes to complete it (you can't really expect us to do research when voting!). I could see this in a nature magazine or something. Still, my head feels fuller after reading your comments and notes, so thanks :-)

Not bad at all. I think I would have preferred the same POV for the second image (with the horizon line, etc). All the same it worked well for me.

This reminded me, for some reason, of that part in "to kill a mockingbird" where Scout plays a ham in the Christmas pageant. I don't know why at all. It just did.
