The cowgirlby Yo_SpiffComment: Didn't get much love at all did it? Surprised about the extent of the lack of love it got. I thought it'd be higher side or five-five. There's no way it was taken at two--look at the shadow on her face.
Ask her to grow a moustache for the next time :-) |

Just Chillin'by dswannComment: nice and smooth. Nice contrast in colours between the flower and the fly. I'm not voting in this challenge, but I'd give this a 6 or 7 I'd say. Good contrast. Very outdoor feel. Focus is on the flower and bee without either taking away from the other.
Only slight criticism is that there appears to be a lot of imperfections on the flower's petals. It'd be nice were this advanced editing to take them away. There's probably nothing you could do in basic. So it's a criticism that can't be helped with the rules... how useless! :) |

Broad appeal is a fickle thing. |
I didn't mean it in the sense of "why wasn't it 7?" but more like "why wasn't it 6.3 or 6.4?
The welding gives a much nicer lighting effect than I'd've imagined actually.
Love the crop and textures. |

Low Talkerby MagnumphotographyComment: Just under six seriously undershadows the quality, uniqueness and humour of this image. Well deserved posthumous blue. Congratulations. I hit this with a high vote. So few images bring genuine humour to play but this certainly did! |

An adult perspectiveby TrollManComment: Terribly under rated. This got my highest vote in the challlenge, 9. Such a cute portrait. May not be the most unique point of view but its certainly one you're familiar with if you have little folk running around your floor. Processing is superb. Should have broken six.
I think this suggests we look from his point of view, if that makes sense. And that his is the unique view. I really like it. |

Januaryby smardazComment: This is a nice self portrait. I like the composition and the execution and lighting.
Not sure what else to say about it really. I do think that if it was cropped by the bottom of the sleeve on your right hand and a little outside your arms it would have worked better for me.
It certainly pops well which is nice.
I'm not sure if I have any helpful critique/suggestions/anything else. Though your right hand does look a little blue to me... |

groovinby smardazComment: I don't know what to say about this image. It's excellent. Really excellent. And you were robbed of a 6+ score for it. The image screams of music, as I said. Composition is excellent. Lighting is gorgeous. The expression on his face is superb. This is my second time looking back at it. I gave it a 7 during the challenge. When I went back to look at it after I said I'd've given it an 8. But now I think I'd give it a 10 and fav it.
The expression evokes so much. |
