Another personality from the Ft. Worth Stockyards. No big mustache on this one, however.

Anticipated comments/critiques:
-An easy guess as my entry, especially with the middle of the word "stockyards" in the background.
-Out of focus blob in the lower right corner. It's her horse and I didn't feel I could effectively clone it out.
-In spite of being OOF, some may still feel the background is too much of a distraction.
-I'll be disappointed if this does not pull in a comment from littlemav.

Post-challenge notes:
Thought this would do better than where it came in, but then don't we all think that? Shows what happens when you mess with a winning formula. Not a huge amount of low votes, it was the 5's that killed it. If she were a few years older, and male with a big mustache, it may have done better.

Good entry Steve. I like the honesty in the this portrait - and your use of the light of sunset really captures the cowgirl's face in a fantastic way - 7 during voting.

Didn't get much love at all did it? Surprised about the extent of the lack of love it got. I thought it'd be higher side or five-five. There's no way it was taken at two--look at the shadow on her face.
Ask her to grow a moustache for the next time :-)

The colours on her face is just lovely (got to love the golden hour for portraits). The DoF is perfect to show details over all her face but to subdue the background. The background still adds a lot this image with supporting and complementary colours. It would have been nice not to have that object in the bottom right but too much of the composition would have been lost if it was cropped out. Her smile and eyes is telling a story that wants me to know what it was that she just heard or saw.

Now I know I’m probably wrong here as I’ve seen in the thumbnails of a cowboy with a big moustache in B&W but I’m going to have a guess that this is Yo_Spiff as I see his processing and style in this image. If not, please accept this as a compliment as I do enjoy his work.

Love the light falling on her face and eyes. If this isn't your photo Steve I am going to look pretty foolish making the last half of this comment.
