Sand of Time by gadionComment: Wow! This is incredible. Congrats on a wonderful image. Hop it ends up in the front page (and that you'll let us know how you did this!) |

Still Life with Acidby Yo_SpiffComment: Completely agree with MacDonald. Gorgeous processing. This should have finished much higher than my entry. Although, it's still nice to beat you :-) |

Dark Sentiment by hesitantComment: This is a gorgeous image. One of my favourite of the challenge.
I was wondering if you could give a very quick summary of the process used to process the shot. The feel you got is wonderful! |

Can You See What I See?by StagoleeComment: Loved this. Very nice take on the challenge. Love the mirror'd feeling and green hue to the reflection. Nice work. 8 |

The Stringy-Bark Treeby MargaretNetComment: This is wonderful. Gorgeous. It'll do well, and perhaps ribbon again.
The truth is, and please don't take this the wrong way, that I'm sort of getting bored of these foggy landscape shots. I like to think of dpchallenge as a platform for challenging you to discover and explore new techniques, processing, composition (although I do like this composition) and making people like it. Is there a challenge in taking these shots that you know will be appreciated? I don't know. But seeing how well they're doing for you I'd say you could try to challenge yourself a bit more! :-)
Perhaps I'm being unfair. I think I am, actually. Still though, I wrote it so I'm not getting rid of it! :-)
With all that said, still you get an 8 for this. |

Dawn's Early Lightby Yo_SpiffComment: Nice. Somehow what I said pre-challenge doesn't feel as important with the two trees as opposed to the one. Maybe the area between them makes a horizontal rectangle that makes the portrait orientation feel right.
Gotta love the change in colours in this. And the strong silhouette. |

Rail Bridgeby NikonJebComment: Nice image. And I like the lines.
I think it suffers from a bit of haloing, more so in the reflection, but there might also be a hint of it on the top too. The sky also (to me anyway) seems a bit grey. The kind of grey you can get when you pushed it in PP too much. Not saying yours was (it might be the weather on that day, so it's not getting knocked for it) but it just looks like that to me. It does have the benefit of not distracting you and making you look at the rail bridge, so, as I said, not counting it against it or anything.
All in all a 7 I think. Might bump it later. Might not. We'll see :-)
This is the interpretation of the challenge description I also took. |
