the runawaysby flahermaComment: Wow. I hope this was set up. Very moody. Evokes a combination of sadness and adventure. |

Thank you for not litteringby romilComment: Lots of emotion as the viewer.. Intrigue, curiosity, sadness, even embarrassment. I'm not a big fan of photos of people in crisis like this, but I want to understand the context. It's both disturbing and compelling. |

Road Closedby franktheyankComment: I'm enjoying imagining the rest of the tableau outside the frame, and the numerous possibilities for context of this section of the big picture. Also appreciate the toning and processing choices. Nice. |

Thug Lifeby Penny LaneComment: Cute. It would be better if the dog had a 100 dollar bill in his mouth, or stuck under his collar... |

summerby TiberiusComment: Congrats! This one grew on me. The extreme sharpening more than the lower right blur... but, small nits, fade and the overall impact grows. What I find most engaging, is the subtle arcs of the clouds above the diving boy - almost as if he has wings. Nice. |

Lake View, No Waitingby JakeKurdsjukComment: This among my top scoring entries. An appropriate evocation of the theme with an effective use of DOF (or selection PP blur?) to highlight the subject. Kudos. |

Passing Byby giantmikeComment: This was among my top picks for this challenge.
I agree with FromDaRock about the feather as the defining feature. While I understand backdoorhippie's comment about the background, I found it to be an interesting part of my viewing. I first saw the background with an indistinct foregroung white object and assumed "floating bird, so what?" The dominant background then led a viewing sequence that ended with an "aha" when I was ultimately drawn to the feather.
Wow, way TMI, let's just say I like this a lot.
Originally posted by FromDaRock: Very nice, the feather helps set this apart from many similar photos. Nice touch. |
Originally posted by backdoorhippie: Like it but don't love it - background keeps pulling my eye from the feather. |
