Walking After Midnight by sjhulsComment: Very nice work, my favorite of the lot. I love your use of blur on the trees to create the impression of depth. Watch out for light direction though: if the moon is supposed to be the main (only?) source, the trees on the right should be totally dark. Not a big deal of course :-) |

I did think about that too, but to my knowledge, the border has to be distinguishable from the picture itself, otherwise, it's a DQ... |

Simply Blue by JulietNNComment: What can I say? This is a fantastic landscape. The fog layers just work so well! And the blue tones are absolutely gorgeous. Congratulations on your ribbon! |

the last drop of water by TrollManComment: Congratulations on your blue ribbon!
I have to say I disagree with all the comments saying it's the victory of "photography" against "digital art", or whatever people call things. I don't see the point of opposing type of pictures, processing styles, photographers visions, etc. It's not a war! ;-)
Editing is a tool, just a tool. It can be indispensable, or close to useless, depending on the creation and what is needed to achieve it. Your idea just worked outstandingly that way, and it also appeared to be the best of the challenge, so you won, that's basically it :-)
Congratulations again! Message edited by author 2011-06-10 12:26:31. |
