Abandoned to the Cold Prairieby jimmspComment: Reminds me of The Grapes of Wrath. The horizon is almost too centered, but I do like that you chose to put the buildings off to the side. Nice exposure although I'm not sure there's enough contrast to make me want this in B&W rather than color. |

It's too noiseyby PaulkComment: It is a bit noisy :o) I think you have a nice opportunity here. The figure should be isolated more (it looks like there is maybe another person beyond the first). Maybe using a little lower perspective wouldn't cut the person in half and would help them stand out more (placing them against the sky). The sky also seems a little overexposed. Would it have been possible to expose it a little less? There seems to still be some detail in the person (not yet a true silhouette) so maybe you could have captured more color in the sky. |

River Lagan: Frozenby gerardComment: In a way, this is a busy shot. There's a lot of vegetation and light vs. dark areas. I'm left searching around within the frame for something to focus on. I do like the branch in the top corner, but that side of the shot is so dark that it's hard to really appreciate. |

Tranquil Seaby Clou9Comment: Nice sunset but seems a tad overexposed maybe. It could stand some darker colors in the sky and more of a silhouette effect on the boats. The green in the bottom corner is too much of a contrast with the rest of the shot and probably should have been eliminated somehow. |

As Sceneby BullwinkleComment: The snow in the immediate foreground is way too white and distracting. I would have tried a little higher perspective because the sky and tower are really quite interesting. I do like the addition of the snow-covered rock though. |

Cumberland Fallsby RLSComment: I know that it is tough to take good winter shots without snow, but the black and white here doesn't really help. I like the placement of the fall in the shot, but there's too much empty water space in the foreground. The lighting isn't bad, and I do like the diagonal of the rocks leading to the fall. |

Portalby AntithesisComment: Tough lighting with the bright, sun-lit areas and the shadowed foreground. I like the natural framing created by the rock but would prefer a different angle that would show more of the water and rocks in the foreground and less of the washed out sky. |

The Fog Rolls in at Duskby sjgleahComment: Hey. That looks a lot like East TN (my nome). I really like the bottom half of the photo. You did a good job of keeping color and shape in the foreground with such low lighting. There's just too much sky for me, and it makes the whole thing seem bottom heavy. Maybe if you could have captured more light and color in the sky ... |

Spread Eagle Peakby vtruanComment: Strong image. Something bothers me about the tree though, and I can't really explain why. Maybe it is just too big and dark while I would rather see something smaller to really accentuate the strength and majesty of the backdrop. |

Gong Lighthouseby SavaxComment: I wish this didn't have to be so short so that I could see it better. Interesting wide angle. I like the sky. |
