I've been there I know how stunning this place is. I would go as far as saying it was probably the most gorgeous place we travelled to when were in Italy. it's a shame you didn't wait for a sunset or sunrise, the lighting is very flat maybe you just was not out and about at the right time, but man this could've been really really good!

Wow I freaked slightly when I saw this! Montreal! When I was there last year I took a very similar photo even with the mist on the top and nearly entered it in a challenge, this reminds me a lot of this photo.

The one thing that does not make this look realistic is the background. Not sure why you didn't photograph the flower in its natural setting outside. Apart from that it's a really good idea.
