Great image! The only thing I would suggest is a bit of a closer crop not having so much of the horses neck in the picture - perhaps croping out about 1/3 of what is showing now; the darker section as it keeps pulling my eye away from the hand

this image gives me the feeling that something just isn't right :-( makes me wonder what's about to happen to this dog? the title tells me it's something being done out of kindness and love for the animal; the hand on the leash makes me think these two are old frineds - IMO you've done an excellent job with this and you've evoked alot of emotion
