The Water Babies ~ Charles Kingsleyby Ja-9Comment: Fits better than expected really. The image here seems to really work for the novel in unexpected ways.
The motion blur is really quite well done too.
A bit of artifacting/oversharpening will keep me from giving this all the love it could have gotten, but I think a 7 is deserved. |

The Secret Gardenby giantmikeComment: Hmm... I picture something more intimate when I read that novel.
Still, roughly applicable, and what a LOVELY shade of red.

The Secret Gardenby pmichaudComment: Yes. It evokes the novel.
Why are those greens SCREAMING NEON GREEN?
Otherwise, this image is fairly good - but the way saturated blues and greens hurt the image.

Black Beautyby jomariComment: Excellent.
A well connected image - and a beautiful horse.
Processing really hurts this image though - the image feels noisy, but yet over-smooth.

To Kill A Mockingbirdby mefnjComment: Extraordinary.
Although this fails to deliver the racial punch the novel did, I suppose the fact that the mockingbird is noted in the novel ties this together.
Would have liked something more provocative, but this is a really nice image.

"Something Wicked This Way Comes" by Ray Bradburyby ThingFishComment: Hmm... It was more halloween than carnival - but this image does evoke that darkness of the novel.
I think your processing killed this image - everything is plastic smooth. Bit of a shame really, as this is quite nice.

Kafka's "The Castle"by RyanWComment: Strange book.
I can see where you were coming from, but it seems to me that this really nice image might have found a better fit with a different novel.
Image is good, might suggest a few changes in composition, but overall good. Fit is less good.
