I think this definitely qualifies as a portrait, however how am I supposed to know this is a wild bird? I'll assume for now it really is, but I think this one needs at least one "context" image for support.

Also, killer detail on the feathers and eye.

The Line Up

I like this image. The leading line is great, and I love the DOF.

Birds are of course a bit washed out on the chest and head - what a shame, this is otherwise a very nice shot.
