Poor maligned creature. They are so magnificent when they are soaring. This is a great moody shot. The sky really sets him off. Excellent portrait.

This may not be perfect crisp focus and bold cheeful color, but it is indeed one of my favorites of this challenge. There's something both proud and sad about the way this bird holds himself. The softness, the stark composition and lovely blurred background all contribute to the melancholy feel.

Black and white works well here. Just a little soft or this would be one of the better shots in the challenge.

Looks soft, although PP could probably fix that. Nice shot overall.
