So, why the heck is bird written on the receiver? That's odd, but a very pleasant detail. Apparently people in Washington are a little nicer to their payphones, this thing looks like it might actually work.

I love the whole phone as a phonebook thing, it's pretty reminiscent of what I saw when these things were common (and I still used them...)

So, wow! What a great weathered box, love the fact that it's mostly unbroken and largely intact, while still being horribly weathered and beaten.

Not sure about your crop here, but I'm going to assume you had good reason.

A local huh? :) This place is about 10 minutes from my house, and they do make one of the best (and fastest) burgers you'll ever eat.

I assume you must have been enjoying the Bosque Del Apache? It also looks like this was taken on a Sunday, as they're normally packed all day long :)

So, as for the picture? Not bad! I like the sepia treatment, but I'm almost sad that it wasn't a night shot with the blinking yellow light over the intersection, as that's been a shot I've wanted to take for a while now...

I'm not so sure about the focus here, I can see that you were drawing our attention to the keypad, but I almost find the phone receiver distracting here... But the reflection of the receiver in the grime on the chrome is great!
